Tessa Sunniva is a versatile singer, 24 years old and very experienced in the music business.
Tessa studied dance at Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts during high school, took singing lessons from Maria Rondel, Margot Giselle and Jimmy Hutchinson , piano lessons from Marco Bedevaart and acting lessons from Kitty Courbois.
2016 /2017 From November 2016,Tessa will play the role 'Jane' in the Disney musical ‘Tarzan’ in Germany (Oberhausen) produced by Stage Entertainment.
2012-2013 Tessa has originated the leading role of Ariël, in the remake of the Disney musical 'The Little Mermaid' produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and Stage Entertainment.
In her childhood she played the role of Brigitta in The Sound of Music, produced by Stage Entertainment, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Mary in The Secret Garden.
In 2007 she became the runner up in a major national TV talent show, called; So You Wanna Be A Popstar. After this TV show she performed throughout the whole country as a solo artist, successfully released several singles and had many national TV and radio appearances.
In 2014 Tessa has won the Musicalworld Award in the category 'Best breakthrough 2013' for her starring role Ariel from the musical 'Little Mermaid'.
In that same year, Tessa was the first European singer who gave a ‘One Woman Solo Show’ as a ‘Main Stage Star Attraction’ on the Disney Cruise Ship 'Disney Magic’.
And in 2015 she participated as a solo vocalist in the ‘Disney Channel Zomertour 2015’ in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Next to singing, dancing, acting in musicals and solo performances, Tessa is also writing her own music. She is hoping to release her own album in time.

Next to this she is a professionally educated dancer who can also act and present. Tessa also plays the piano and has been taking lessons for years at Lucia Marthas’ dance academy in Amsterdam.

The musical and Tessa in her role as Ariel has received great reviews after the premiere and went on tour through the whole country.
2014 Tessa has won the Musicalworld Award in the category 'Best breakthrough 2013’ for her starring role Ariel from the musical 'Little Marmaid’ of Disney Theatre Productions and Stage Entertainment NL. Even as a child, Tessa played leading roles in several professional musical productions such as “Sound of Music” by Joop van den Ende Musicalproductions.
Apart from singing in musicals, Tessa also performed as a solo artist in talent shows. In 2002 she won the provincial finale of the VARA Children’s Song contest and got to represent Noord-Holland in the national finale in Hengelo. In this contest, which was broadcasted on Dutch television, Tessa reached second place.
In 2004, 2005 and 2006, Tessa won several talent shows, often being the youngest contestant.
In Februari 2007, Tessa performed in the supporting program of the BZN Farewell Tour. This was a show of half an hour in the Van Zantenhal in Nieuw Vennep. Together with Lucia Marthas’ dancers she gave a stunning show. This performance was a major success, therefore she was asked to be the support act of the famous singer Belle Perez in May 2007.
In the summer of 2007, Tessa entered the auditions of the SBS-broadcast ‘So You Wannabe a Popstar’. Tessa made it to the live shows and eventually to the finale. In the sensational finale Tessa became second place winner, which is a wonderful achievement for someone her age.
After that her first single ’I Put My Trust In You’ could be found in music stores from November 2007 and made it to a high position in the Top 100.
Tessa had a prominent role during the great Popstars Concert which took place on the 8th of December 2007 in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. Next to that, Tessa performed together with her fellow finalist Maaike Jansen at Gerard Joling’s Stout & Nieuw Concerts, in December 2007 in the Ahoy in Rotterdam. These concerts were broadcasted on Dutch television later.
In December 2008, two new Christmas songs were released, which Tessa recorded in Spain together with an internationally renowned producer.
These two songs, a ballad called ‘Christmas Eve’ and the up-tempo song ‘Everybody’s Happy’, immediately reached place 30 in the Single Top 100 (week 50). For weeks on end these songs stayed in the Top 100 and the music videos were broadcasted on TMF and other television stations.Tessa is the only Dutch artist who managed in 2009 to secure a place in the top 10 of international Christmas Video's of the music channel TMF.
In March 2009, Tessa’s single L.O.V.E. was released and reached position 22 in the Top 100. The video could be seen on TMF and other stations for months on end. This single stayed on the first position in the Kids Top 20 for several weeks. The song L.O.V.E. appeared on many ‘various artists-CDs’ and was used for a major national advertising campaign on television and radio.
In October 2009 Tessa gave a big pop concert in Hungary, which was particularly very successful.
The single of Tessa called ‘Lipstick’ with the bonus track of her own written song ‘This is It’ is released in March 2010 and entered the Top 100 a week after.
September 2010 , the new single of Tessa 'LOSING MY MIND‘ was released. This single Losing My Mind is a great international sounding upbeat song. Therefore it is no wonder that this song is selected by the game makers 'Crystal Games' to be the theme song to the PlayStation game ‘Snake Warriors Training’. This game is released in whole Europe, Australia , New Zealand , Russia, Saudi Arabia , South Africa and even in the U.S. soon!
